Feminist Foreign Policy: The What, Why, and How

  • Eaton DC Hotel 1201 K ST NW Washington, DC 20005 (map)

About the event

Feminist foreign policy is suddenly popping up across the globe. Pioneered in Sweden, a number of countries have since adopted a feminist foreign policy, including Canada, France, Germany, Mexico, and Libya. But what is it? And where does the US stand on the issue? In this panel, experts from a variety of fields, including climate change, reproductive rights, diversity and inclusion, and national security discuss the what, how, and why of feminist foreign policy and examine whether the US can and will adopt one.

Featuring:

  • Elmira Bayrasli, CEO of Interruptrr

  • Kavita Ramdas, Activist in Residence at the Global Fund for Women

  • Caitlin Horrigan, Senior Director of Global Advocacy of Planned Parenthood Federation of America

  • Andreanna Mond, Program Officer of Women of Color Advancing Peace, Security and Conflict Transformation (WCAPS)

  • Bridget Burns, Executive Director of the Women's Environment and Development Organization (WEDO)

This panel is organized by the Coalition for a Feminist Foreign Policy in the United States, on behalf of the Feminist Foreign Policy Collaborative, and the Women’s Funding Network.
